2. Description
Since 1992, we have been committed to improving the health of the citizens of the Italian Region Friuli Venezia Giulia and the world. Attention to the needs of the surrounding territory has been the inspiration for public health research from the molecular to the population level. We are involved also in higher education, public health practice and clinical epidemiology. In recent years the Institute has conducted research in specialized sectors of epidemiologic research including: Pharmacoepidemiology, Burden of disease analysis, Epidemiology of disorders of the central nervous system, Triggers of injuries, Health effects of occupational and environmental exposures and others. The Institute collects de novo clinical and population-based data, acts as data managing and processing unit, performs biostatistical analysis and has developed expertize in validation of electronic diagnosis through hospital records retrieval and analysis.
