2. Description
Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB) is a public tertiary teaching hospital that belongs to the National Health Service. The Clinical Pharmacology Service of HUB was set up in 2007 and joined the Clinical Trials Unit of HUB (set up in 2000, funded by Bellvitge Institute for Biomedical Research, IDIBELL). IDIBELL is a research foundation with scientific collaboration agreements with HUB and University of Barcelona. The Clinical Pharmacology Service of HUB has several areas of work in clinical pharmacology and pharmacoepidemiology (pharmacovigilance, drug utilization studies, clinical trials, information on drugs and therapeutics, and scientific/research advice). It has several research projects sponsored by public funding agencies (mainly pharmacoepidemiological studies and clinical trials) and also collaborates in research projects of a wide range of clinical services in the hospital (mainly psychiatry, neurology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases and nephrology.
