The Information System for the Development of Research in Primary Care (SIDIAP database) was created in 2010 under the auspices of the Catalan Institute of Health (CIH) and the Primary Care Research Institute Jordi Gol (PCRI). Its main aims is to promote the development of research based on data from primary care electronic medical records and other complementary databases. SIDIAP's main objective is, therefore, to generate reliable research databases from the computerized medical records (as registered using the e-CAPTM software), used in the Primary Health Care setting within the CIH.
