2. Description
Bordeaux PharmacoEpi is a research platform of University of Bordeaux of about 30 persons. We do field studies (cohort, case-control, cross-sectional) in many therapeutic area, eventually coupled with databases, with a strong emphasis on patient-derived data. We also have expertise in the French National Healthcare Data System, SNDS, which covers 99% of the French population, with about 20 ongoing studies. This includes medical claims data, hospital discharge summaries and the national death registry. We are developing common data models to the OHDSI standards, and use innovative analytical methods. We participate in various european and international networks. Studies include safety, effectiveness (absolute or comparative), drug utilization, economics, health technology assessment, etc... mostly in the context of PASS or PAES, concerning medication, but also devices or other health interventions. We also organize the yearly Bordeaux PharmacoEpi festival.
