2. Description
The Jordi Gol Foundation was created in 1995 under the auspices of the Catalan Health Institute. Since its inception it has pioneered research in Primary Health Care in Spain.
In 2006 the Foundation becomes the Primary Health Care University Research Institute Jordi Gol (IDIAP Jordi Gol).
The IDIAP aims to generate new knowledge and practical evidence to promote, advance and manage Primary Care research in Catalonia and other areas, by means of training, dissemination of results and translation of research findings into clinical practice.
IDIAP Jordi Gol has at present 107 active competitve projects and 51 clinical trials. It has the Medicines Research Unit that leads different studies adn clinical trials and the SIDIAP database (www.sidiap.org) with clinical data on 5.8 million of inhabitants.
