2. Description
ARS (Agenzia Regionale di Sanità della Toscana) is an advisory body that provide scientific support for public heathcare activities to the Regional Board and the Regional Council of Tuscany. ARS produces studies on population health status and healthcare services delivered in Tuscany. The scientific activities of ARS are handled by epidemiologists, experts in quality and equity of the processes, physicians, pharmacologists, statisticians and computer scientists. We also collaborate in regional, national and international research projects and produce scientific publications accordingly. Most of our research is based on re-use of administrative data concerning healthcare delivered to Tuscany residents, as well as data from disease registries and the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT). All data used in ARS are deidentified.
